Je suis vraiment fier de figurer parmi les gagnants de l’Applied Arts 2014 Photography + Illustration Awards (page 99). La première série primée montre un forgeron au travail : Thomas Lefebvre, un forgeron artisan oeuvrant dans région de Québec. Pour cette série, je voulais montrer à quel point celui-ci devait forcer physiquement et avoir une proximité avec les matériaux afin de réussir ses oeuvres. La deuxième photo récompensée montre le groupe de musique country/folk Les Chercheurs d’or dans une mise en scène originale qui suggère que ceux-ci sont accrochés au mur.

I am very proud to have been chosen as a winner in the portrait and poster photography categories of the Applied Arts 2014 Photography and Illustration Awards (page 99)! The first winning series shows a blacksmith at work. For this series of portraits, I wanted to show the physical effort and proximity to the hot metal that is necessary to create objects. Thomas Lefebvre is a blacksmith from the Quebec City area. The second wining photo shows the country/folk band Les Chercheurs d”Or. For this photo, I wanted to create an original scene where the band members appear to be hanging on the wall.
